The society Biofinesse has just moved from its office at the MIN in Toulouse to a new building in the ZAC of Gabardie where it is installed in a 900m² storage place, which the 2/3 are dedicated to cold storage rooms. This is a victory for Serge Atia who created this society (SARL) specialized in organic food supplies for food services five years ago. Nowadays, the society has more than 150 suppliers who have adapted their packages to food services, and many customers (schools, high schools, colleges, ) that do not have many funding for these foods and order day by day. Thanks to two distributing platforms (Toulouse and Paris), Biofinesse offers 1 100 different fresh, dry and frozen products. « What Biofinesse has done helps a lot to develop the organic activity, says Elisabeth Mercier, the Agence Bios director who works for the development and promotion of organic foods in France. She presented the offices inauguration Thursday 18th of January. More and more local companies are interested in these products. Even if the organic foods for foodservices remain small in quantities, there is a global move toward this kind of products and many initiatives.» The Agence Bio is going to launch a study regarding foodservices to know more about all private and public initiatives in order to share them later on.
The USA, an ambitious project.
Biofinesse is finalizing an ambitious project to export its activity to the USA. « Among our 1 100 products, we are going to select a specific offer, adapted to American demand regarding taste and packaging needs, says Serge Atia. Also, we will develop the service aspect, much more developed than in France. The market research we have done is very positive.» Some contacts are being established with American importers and Serge Atia will be in May in Chicago, at the NRA, a foodservice show.
